Course Details

The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program provides high-quality English language training to help students improve all aspects of their English language skills and prepare them for academic success. The course builds critical thinking, independent learning, team work and analysis skills in small classes with a balanced and tailored curriculum to suit your needs. Based in the heart of the Bedford Park campus, you will be a Flinders student from day one. Our EAP course prepares students for success not only in the classroom but also for life and work in Australia, through tailored support emphasising cultural engagement and social activities. Entry Requirements: Successful completion of Australian Year 11 or a comparable educational level in their home country. At least 17 years of age at commencement. English Language Entry requirements: Overall IELTS 4.5 (with no band below 4.0). This full-time course includes 20 hours of face-to-face instruction per week. Comprised of 10 hours of Reading and Writing class and 10 hours of Listening and Communication class. In addition, students can attend between 2 to 6 hours of support and elective classes per week. There is a maximum of 18 students and a minimum of 1 teacher in each class.
